MacBook Air

The new MacBook Air from Apple is so thin that it fits in a manila envelop. Apple calls it MacBook Air "the world’s thinnest notebook".

MacBook Air features an optional solid-state hard drive and Apple has incorporated the iPhone interface into MacBook Air. It weighs 3.0 pounds (1.36 kg) and is 0.76 inches (1.93 cm) thick at its thickest point and 0.16 inches (0.4 cm) at its thinnest, making it the thinnest notebook currently in production.

The MacBook Air features a 1.8-inch hard disk drive — a Parallel ATA (PATA) model that operates at 4200 RPM — has a storate capacity of 80GB standard. A 64GB solid-state disk (SSD) drive comes as is an option. MacBook Air comes with a sleek keyboard with crisp keys, just like the MacBook.

With a silvery finish it sports a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display that has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The backlighting is supposed to save power and provide "instant on" response from the moment you turn it on. The device has a slightly wedge-shaped profile. It sports an iPhone like interface and hence an oversize multi-touch trackpad.

According to this post, "the first thing i noticed about MacBook Air is the processor i.e 2.0 Ghz, that is fine but not very much impressive for me. Another thing in the Hard drive which comes in standard 80 GB which is NOT ENOUGH! It must have been 300 GB to put everything. Another thing are the port. It comes with only 1 USB 2.0 port, headphone jack and a micro-DVI port, thats it. A single USB port is a big turn off for me. And now the Big things you havent noticed! It does not comes with a DVD or CD Readers/Writters. Weird eh?! Dont worry, Apple supplies you a portable DVD drive for this purpose to which you can plug in USB port and use it. Also this DVD drive does not work with any other PC, pretty interesting thing for me =D".
